Opening update download

I’m operating Win 98 Office 2000 and have successfully downloaded Microsoft’s spell checker update to hard disk in my downloads file. I click on the download icon to open file and am shown a list of programs to open file with. I don’t know which to use and usually can’t open the download. Microsoft didn’t give any directions on which to use. What do I do?

I’ve got WinZip installed. When I use it to open file I get the same list with no instructions for download installation. Actually, I’ve never understood WinZip.
