    When I right-click on the Start button and select Explore, it takes me to c:documents and settingsusernamestart menu. Is there a way to just to the root of c:

      When you right click any location in explorer and choose explore, it takes you to explore that location. The folder you went to is where the start menu is located.

      You will need to use a different method to start explorer if you want to explore a different location.
