I’ve used only Firefox, Thunderbird, Audacity, Videolan, and a few games, but there’s a wealth of apps here. The problem I find most often with open source from small companies is poor help files. But I’d love to hear from those who have tried other programs here.

One of the problems with SourceForge as a discovery tool is that many of the projects have quietly died without any indication about what’s happening with them. No one’s really in charge of cleaning up, so you can waste a lot of time exploring half-finished work.

      Oh, I can recommend 7-Zip (7-zip.org -or- sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip).

Didn’t know that. So some of those programs aren’t completed? All the more reason why recommendations from users would be appreciated.

      KeePass.
