open publisher 2002 files? (office 2000 pro/win 2000pro)

hello again one and all!

once more i beg your help. a friend sent my husband a publisher 2002 file, which i cannot open as we have publisher 2000. is there any way that we can open it, and, hopefully, use the file? any help that you can send my way will be gratefully appreciated. thanks and God bless.

You can open it, but only if it was saved as a Publisher 2000 file. You may want to ask the sender to resave the file in 2000 format and resend it to you. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 322081 explains the simple procedure..
