    Hi All,

Does anyone know how to obtain an “Open License Agreement” for Office 2000 (SR1a)?

And if so, what’s the process involved?

I have many users that need to upgrade to Office 2K from 97, however none have a CD so we need to purchase licenses if possible.

    TIA

I think you need to be a reseller to get such a license. Best thing to do is check the Microsoft site.

There are volume licensing agreements available for large companies, but there’s also something similar aimed at small businesses. The MS site it the best place to start, as Mark says.

          Thanks Mark and Charlotte.

Actually someone found this site which answers most of my questions: http://www.microsoft.com/business/licensing/overview.asp

Any idea how much the license may cost (for 50 users)?

          Thanks again,

          Dave

You’re going to have to ask Microsoft that question. shrug

Actually it’s decided by the “reseller” (CompUSA, OfficeDepot, etc) as I have found out.

When I get a price I’ll pass it along. From what I can tell, 5 licenses costs the same as 500. Odd!

If you get 500 licenses for the cost of 5, be sure to post back the contact info for the reseller!! wink

              Hey Shane,

Well as I kind of indicated before and you picked up on, the person I talked to at Microsoft provided bad information to say the least.

              This is how it works:

              1. You get one flat discounted price so long as you buy a minimum of 5 licenses.

              2. The license agreement lasts for 2 years and is renewable.

I was just quoted a price of $255 per license. This makes a lot more sense.

I’m looking at other places to see if that price can be beat, but I’m not counting on it.

              Regards,

              Dave
