? Open file then Search Text

I have an Access 97 database that I want to use to open a DOS file and search for a particular text string. Does anyone have any sample code for this that I can look at? I thought this was a pretty common thing. ..

Hi Mike –

A couple of ideas:

Since you’re looking for text, it seems to me that using Word would be ‘easier’ than Access? Or run Word from Access?
Or import the dos file (does it have some kind of format?) with each ‘line’ as a single field of perhaps the memo type, and do a search in Access?
