We have a network with shared mapped drives. I’d love our users to be presented with these drives as Icons in the File Open dialog

I’m stuck – all that seems to be possibe is to have the Microsoft defaults of “My Documents” “Desktop” “My Network Places” and “History”.

The best I’ve come up with is putting folder shortcuts into “My documents” – surely there is a better way!

Awesome – thanks for the quick response – it covers the topic nicely.
Naturally, on my system, the “Add to my Places” line is greyed out – but I suspect I can work that out somehow grin.

The “Add to My Places” item is only enabled if you have selected a drive or folder, not if you have selected a file.

My mistake (for the record) was to select the folder in the top dropdown. I found that I had to select it in the body of the Dialog box.

To have N: seen as a non-greyed folder I had to create an N: shortcut and then select it from the Dialog pane to add to places. It works beautifully – thanks
