I have used this Ookla speed test for years.  I can still signin and the test still runs. But when I go to the results history page there are “no results”.  All my history just gone, wiped out. Not even the test I just ran shows up.

I never had trouble before but I turned off my Adblock as suggested on the website but it did not matter.  I added a line to custom adblock that Ookla troubleshoot provided, @@||speedtest.net/javascript/speedtest-main.js?*.  That did nothing to help.  I checked Chrome forum and no one else is having same problem and chrome recommends using Ookla speedtest, so it isn’t suddenly incompatable with chrome.

I cannot find anywhere to email support for help.  Only email support seems to be for a paid  business version.  When I tried to sign in it said my email and password were bad so I guess it is a completely separate version.

Does anyone know how to contact support for the free version or have any ideas why all of a sudden my results history has disappeard?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Three days ago (on the day following your post) I emailed support@speedtest.net with exactly the problem you describe but have as yet received no reply.
Like you I found tracing a path to any contact facility pretty discouraging and I can’t now remember how I found the email address I used. It didn’t bounce back but of course it could have been wrongly seen as junk somewhere down the line.

Thank you for your reply.  I never did find anyway to get help.  I will try to send an email too in hopes the address is still good.

BTW I opened a new account with another email address I have and the new account is working and logging results for  about 48 hours now.  But I would like to get my old account back with my result history.

I don’t understand why the people who run the website are hiding so. Their FAQ does not address what has happened to us.

I absolutely agree about the ‘hiding’ regarding contact facility – one wonders if there is simply no manned structure behind the tech. Anyway, there’s strength in numbers, even if it’s only the two of us!

It is very interesting that your new account works, one wonders if changes introduced meant history of all old accounts couldn’t be carried over.

Have same issue. Without the history it’s suddenly “just another speed test site” if no response is forthcoming I suggest focussing on other sites for this service.

Just checked Speedtest.com original account. Everything is back. It even saved the the test results when it was not working or showing any results. The only results that are not there are the couple times I tested using the new account I just opened. Which makes sense it would’nt mixx the two separate accounts.
I never did email them using support@speedtest.net. I just started another account. I don’t have any idea what happened. Glad to have my results history back.
Still have no idea how to reach these people.

Thank you for your good news – it prompted me to check and my results are back as well!

Perhaps predictably I haven’t received a reply from Speedtest to my email but someone , somewhere has clearly found a gremlin and cleared it. All’s well that ends well!

It was fixed shortly after I reported the problem to contact@speedtest.net.

How did I get that address? I tried changing the email address on my Speedtest account, which triggered an “Ookla Speedtest Email Change Confirmation” email. That email said, “If you need to reach us, please email us at contact@speedtest.net“.

Don’t bother trying to contact Ziff Davis for a resolution. It’s obvious baby Ookla has lost everyone’s history and are lying low until the dust settles. I too have used this interent speed test function for years and it is extremely disappointing that all of a sudden, ALL my history AND account has simply disappeared into the 6th dimension.

Thanks Ookla but know this, no more Ookla getting free network speed data from me. The free lunch has ended. Good riddance to a feckless company that can’t admit it’s mistakes/failings.
