Dunno how or why I did it, but my login only offers an option for PIN entry, nothing for password.

    How do I fix this?

How to change your login method:
      Go to Windows Settings:
Open the Start menu and click on “Settings”
Select Accounts: Navigate to “Accounts” in the settings menu.
Choose Sign-in options: Under “Accounts”, click on “Sign-in options”.
Manage PIN: You can either set up a new PIN, change your current PIN, or switch back to using a password from this section.”

Here’s more on the advantages/disadvantages using a PIN as opposed to a password

      “AI Overview
When Windows asks for a PIN instead of a password at startup, it means you’ve set up a Personal Identification Number as your primary login method, allowing you to sign in to your computer using a shorter, usually numerical code instead of a full password, which is generally considered faster and more convenient, but may be slightly less secure depending on the complexity of your PIN.”

No “Manage PIN” under Sign-in options.

It’s just called “PIN (Windows Hello)”.

my login only offers an option for PIN entry,

I use and like having a PIN number. A windows PIN is stored locally on the device and does not require an internet connection to authenticate you. It’s the first stop on boot, and after boot, a quick “winkey+l (lower case L) instantly brings up the lock screen. Handy it you need to step away from your machine.  I use a PIN for POM.  I have a slightly different PIN # on all of my machines.

I realize it’s not for everybody but it works for me.  I keep a printed copy of my PINs tucked  away in case I have a um ah senior moment.
