On a Windows 11 laptop after running wushowhide to see if anything popped up since I hid the January updates on Patch Tuesday, I then pulled up Windows Update to see if anything showed up.  This showed up, Online Service Experience Pack — Windows.Settings.Account — version 3.1.0.869 ready to download and install.

What is this Online Service Experience Pack?  Do I need it?  What are the ramifications if I don’t install it?

Currently, we are testing this mechanism with the new “Your Microsoft account settings” page. To access the page, under Settings, click Accounts. Information related to your Microsoft account, including your subscriptions for Microsoft 365, links to order history, payment details, and Microsoft Rewards will be displayed. This allows you to access your Microsoft account directly within Settings in Windows 11….

Yes, I read that, should have said that I log in with a Local account.  I don’t use my Microsoft account to log into any of my 4 computers, all userid’s are Local account for both Windows 10 and 11.

In this case you can hide the update

          But how???
Can’t hide it with wushowhide or WU MiniTool.

Clean install of Win11 Pro 22H2 (goodbye Win 10).
After all debloat and settings, GPE and WU war this suddenly shows up:
          Online Service Experience Pack — Windows.Settings.Account — version 3.1.0.933
No way I’m installing it and going back to all of the hassle with settings and GPE stuff. As “IT dilettante” it takes me weeks and reduces my lifespan by years 😉
Any ideas how to get rid of it?
