• OneNote typing not smooth

I’ve upgraded to OneNote 2013 and am finding that typing in the app is not at all smooth. When I type, the letters don’t smoothly show up on the screen as I’m typing. There seems to be a lag (OK, milliseconds, but still a lag). Many time, nothing will be showing up on the screen as I’m typing, then all of a sudden it will spit out half an entire line. The most annoying thing about this is when I’m backspacing due to a mistype. It seems that it is always one key-click late. If I backspace 4 times, only three characters will be deleted. The forth space isn’t deleted until I press another key. Very, very annoying. None of my other Office products are behaving this way. I don’t believe it is a processor problem since OneNote is the ONLY app behaving this way.

Is anyone else having this issue? I can find no references to this issue in any other search I’ve made. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Can you revert to the version of OneNote that you had before? If so, does the problem go away?

That might be the easiest way to fix it.

Thanks for the response, but that really doesn’t answer the issue–downgrading just to make an app work properly indicates that the app needs to be repaired. AND…I no longer have the media the downgrade. Is anyone else having such a problem?

I have a One Note App that came with my Windows 8.1. It doesn’t show any versions #s and I don’t have MSOffice installed. But I will say I have the same problem of typing and letters not showing up for 2 or more seconds, and also in spurts. It happens more when I’m running several tasks at once. I think its a scheduling problem within the One Note app itself. Everything else functions normally. So your not alone.
