Is there a way to read old Outlook Express .dbx files?   I’m looking for an old email from long ago and think it might one of the emails I exported but never imported into Windows Live Mail years ago (never actually used Windows Live Mail).   I think my only recourse is to download some kind of conversion application but don’t know how to find something reputable.   Is there any way to avoid this?  If not, then any suggestions?   Thank you!

Thank you.   I’ll give that a try.

I recommend DBXtract at the link below.

This is an old stand alone (does not need to be installed) utility that will convert all the emails in the DBX file to individual .eml files. Once extracted, any email program can open and read an .eml file. Once extracted, you don’t have to go into the DBX file again.

Thank you for the suggestion.   I would like to use this tool, but won’t be able to.  The email program I use (Spectrum Webmail) imports contacts, but not emails.  (At least I haven’t seen any option to do that.)    I’ll try the FreeViewer DBX File Viewer Tool that b suggested.
