    I am migrating from Office97 SR2 to Office2000 professional.
    Can anyone tell me which service updates I should download and install from the MS-Office downloads area? There appears to be so many.

      Install SR1. I went from Office97 SR2 to Office2000 Premium. I phoned Microsoft and ordered the SR1 cd (which you could have also done on the internet). I have had no problems whatsoever. The phone number as well as SR1 and SR2 release information has been delineated in Woody’s Office Watch e-zine (well worth subscribing to). In my opinion, DO NOT INSTALL the SR2 release or Outlook will have the dreaded security Woody hates. Good luck!
