Office XP is the same as Office 2002. Office 2003 is a new product, although the difference between the 2002 and 2003 versions is not really revolutionary for Word, Excel and Access. From what I have heard, Outlook 2003 is a significant improvement.

And, according to Woody, Office 2003 Professional has a full implementation of XML and that alone should be worth the upgrade.

Support for XML in Office XP is meagre. It is much better in Office 2003, so if you need XML, that would be a strong incentive to get 2003. For many users, it will be irrelevant, though.
