Just been reading WOW #8.36, item 1
    – about the all clear on the Windows and Office Update

I’m a techie, and I look after my own laptop fine, but the guy who looks after the consultants laptops is feeling under a lot of pressure on this service packing and patching
The Office Updates frequently need to have access to the original Office CD for the various MSI files
    – I’ve got around this by copying my various Office CD’s to my hard disk, and then redirecting the install to there, but he doesn’t think this is strickly legal, i.e. he can’t put an image on all the consultants PC’s

Are there any easy, cheap, quick and legal solutions to this issue ?

Since Microsoft suggests copying the CD to a folder in MSKB 299774, I don’t see how it can be illegal. However, I suppose it depends on who owns the machine and the Office license.

Thanks for the pointer Charlotte, as you say, even Microsoft suggest it
        – we’ve got licences for people, so I can’t see why he’s worried shrug
