I am not planning to convert Access 2000 to Access 2003 but would someone let me know if using *Office Automation* within Access versions 2000 and 2002 still works on other Office 2003 applications? I will have to change the Excel and Word references in Access to Office 11.

Are there other problems between Access and Office 2003 that I should be careful of? For instance, can you import an Excel 2003 file into Access 2000 and 2002 tables? I don

Automation still works the same. In most cases, the reference to (for example) the Microsoft Word 9.0 (or 10.0) Object Library will automatically update itself to the 11.0 version.

The 9.0 (2000), 10.0 (2002) and 11.0 (2003) versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel are mostly interchangeable, so you shouldn’t have many problems. Still, once you have Office 2003, it pays to check whether everyrhing still works.

Thanks Hans for the confirmation. When the time comes I will feel more comfortable moving forward; of course testing along the way.
