The companys default microsoft office is version Office 2002.

For support purposes I also have Office 2007 installed on my pc.

Depending on the task I’m doing I’ll close Office 2002, then open Office 2007. The thing is each time I open Office 2007 the configuration installation screen appears for approx. 3 minutes. I would like to open office 2007 alot faster ie straight away, the reason being I do alot of support calls and am under time pressure.

know how I can clear/remove the Office 2007 installation screen?

See Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another version of Office, in particular the section “Multiple versions of Word” – it describes a registyry entry that you can create to suppress the re-registering of Word 2007 each time you run it after Word 2002.

Hans’ reply seems to resolve your specific problem.

However, given that you’re doing support, you might also want to look into Virtual Machines, aka Virtual PCs . They can be invaluable in support, especially if have multiple products &/or releases that don’t coexist cleanly.

yes we have discussed virtual pc’s. currently we dont have VM ware running but are looking into it.
