Recently I was reviewing installed software on my Windows 10 Pro machine and I came across a listing (in Programs & Features in Control Panel) for the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system.  I run Microsoft 365.  Do I need the Compatibility Pack, or can I de-install it?

It’s for recognizing/accessing MS Office doc files (.docx, pptx, xlsx. etc.) created in MS Office 2007 or newer.

It’s only needed if you really using very old versions of Microsoft Office before Office 2007 (ex. Office 2003 or earlier).

      otherwise you may remove it

Kinda what I thought.  I have removed it.  I figure whoever is still using those file types needs to update or at least get some more-compatible software.  😀
