Odd display in Word 2007 document

On new install of Windows XPsp3 and Office 2007sp1, all updated, I opened a Word 2007 document created on the previous install. It came up with this odd display.
What switch do I flip to get rid of the gridlines?

What switch do I flip to get rid of the gridlines?

On the “View” tab in the ribbon, make sure that gridlines (in the second section) is not checked.
