Hi,

I just installed KB5001716 on Windows 10 64bit 22H2. This update put its uninstaller in my application list. I think it should be in “installed updates” list. Anyone noticed this too?

These MS Office non-security updates are intended as previews for businesses to test their effects before they are rolled into the Security updates. We do not recommend installing them if you are a consumer. They are not included in the September DEFCON approval for installation.

Unless you have a specific need to install them, you should wait until Susan Bradley (Patch Lady) approves them and any problems have been reported.

Remember, Susan’s patching sequence and recommendations are based on a business environment that has IT support and may have time constraints on the updating process. Consumer patching should be more cautious due to limited technical and mechanical resources. The latter is the reason for the AskWoody DEFCON system.

Is not Preview:

KB5001716: Update for Windows Update Service components

BTW if you talk about previews, if I check for updates manually (I click on search for updates button) it always install NET Framework Preview update if is available. It never ask me. Why?

Preview for Windows is never installed just by clicking “Search for updates” button.
