How do I (automatically) find out which objects reference another object?

Ex: I want to remove table A and replace it with tables B and C. Which tool do I use to find all references to A in queries, forms, reports, macros and modules?

I would suggest that you look into Rick Fishers Find and Replace program. The price is certainly right and it is in indispensible tool in my opinion. Go to http://www.rickworld.com to download a trial version…

You might try SpeedFerret, which I believe can be found at http://www.SpeedFerret.com. I don’t have it myself, but I know others who think very highly of it.

The latest version of Speed Ferret doesn’t yet support Access XP, although the upgrade should be announced fairly soon. Version 4.0 only goes up to Access 2000/VB6/SQL Server 7.0.

now that is what i call synchronicity…

On the other hand, Speed Ferret 4.0 works with SQL Server and VB as well as Access and has become a truly impressive application. It is no longer an add-in. Rick Fisher’s product is good but limited.

        Hi Mark –

Speed Ferret lists at $149 and is listed on the website as compatible with Acc 2K (max), so i would guess they need to do an upgrade.

OTOH, Rick Fishers Find & Replace is $37.
