Nvidia is rolling out a new firmware update for the Shield TV media players. It mostly contains bug fixes and enhancements but also adds the long-promised support for Auro-3D audio.
The Nvidia Shield is no longer receiving regular updates, but the mega-corporation has not forgotten about it. After releasing a hotfix in October, Nvidia is now rolling out firmware version 9.2 to all owners….

Selected Nvidia Shield over Apple TV for one reason only. USB port on the Shield.
As for video, audio.. file format support, 4K upscale and video audio quality, both are the same.
