Hi I am using windows 7 sp3. Why do I lose my theme on the system when I tried to download the newest Nvidia driver. And Is that a permanent change or can I recover my old theme by rebooting the computer once the driver has been changed to recover my old theme. I am getting the standard light blue toolbar at the bottom of the screen and the windows that come up on the taskbar when you hover over them have completely changed to not having any pictures of the sites I have opened. This seems to be a result of the updated Nvidia driver.
    Thanks for any help

You must save your themes by right clicking the desktop & select properties.

The nVidia drivers are a complete pain, but less complete than previously. At least now they don’t totally rearrange your desktop icons and turn the background to black, although they still resize all the windows you’d so carefully set up. (Windows 7 64-bit)

Plethora means a lot to me.

You did mean Windows 7, Service Pack One, and not XP-SP3 right.

Yeah, I’d also save the theme as Roadrunner suggests, and make note of any other specialty size settings you may have.
I usually try to go for just the driver and exclude all the other crap unless absolutely needed.

My NVIDIA card’s drivers didn’t affect anything on my desktop, but when I used to use XP, that was a different story, seems like I had alot of resting to do.

DEPENDS on what version of windows 7 you have. This link will explain;http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/280-theme-change-save.html

Just on a point of interest, and slightly OT, one issue I’ve had with Nvidia drivers in Windows XP is the path in the registry entry for nwiz.exe is not enclosed in quotes, so on startup Windows opens the folder on the desktop. Add the quotes and it’s fine.
