    My brain is fried, can anyone suggest a quick way to number the rows in a report ?

      Put a text box in the detail section of the report.
      Set its Control Source property to =1
      Set its Running Sum property to “Over all” (or to “Over groups” if you have grouped your report and want numbering to restart at 1 for each group)

      (Wording might be slightly different in English, sorry for that)
