Is there a execute line parameter to get NS 4.7x to open maximized rather than some size between ‘next to impossible to use’ and minimized? I made the mistake aflame of downloading my ISP’s newest dialer puke (they use IE) and when I told it to use NS, it (the dialer) rewarded me by opening NS with a window that is about 3 inches square bummer. I know, it’s only a mouse click to open the window maximized, but I’m really very lazy! BTW, IE opens maximized when I let the dialer open IE.

      Hi Ed:

I’m not sure how the dialer works, of course, but I’ve always been able to launch Netscape 4.x versions by closing them in the maximized position. Also, since I’ve had more problems with IE, if you take a restored size window & stretch it so it’s as large as it’ll get (almost maximized) & then close it, it should change the default restore size.

Hope this helps. Post back & let us know.

        Hi Phil –
Thanks for the ideas, tried it and the window size did increase some, but nope still opens with a window that is less than optimum. I have not quite figured out how the dialer works either – but it does seem strange spook that IE opens with what appears to be maximized, while NS opens with a VERY small window… shrug. Guess I’ll quit being such a crybaby and click one time to get the window size where I want it to be!

          Hi Ed:

When you stretch the restored window to as large as it will go, close it by holding the Ctrl button down + click the small x. Make sure it’s the last window to close; i.e. shut down NS that way. You could try it with the Shift key+x, but I seem to recall the Ctrl key working. If you have TweakUI, open it & make sure that on the Explorer tab the “save Explorer window settings” box is ticked. Reboot.
