I’m trying to print an Gantt chart, and the dates are showing up on the graph portion (next to the symbols). I went into Bar styles, and choose the Text tab. Then I went through each symbol and deleted any text associated with the symbol. However dates are still appearing. How else can I get rid of those dates from the graph portion?
Thanks for any and all help
Christina

AskWoody LoungerDecember 3, 2004 at 10:26 pm #908725I looked in the 2002 Version of Project and was able to successfully remove the date element from the right of the milestone markers in Gantt chart view from the format bar dialog box and print it without the date. An alternative method is to use the Gantt Chart Wizard under Format in the Menu bar and select None in the area where it asks you for what text you want next to the Gantt Bars. This choice will remove the resource names as well. I could not tell from your post if you wanted all text removed or just the dates next to the milestones.

After you went through the Bar Style steps, did some of the dates disappear? If so, then the question is why did the others remain. Any chance these other tasks are inserted from other projects and the task types are not in the Bar Styles. As also stated, you could try the wizard to format bar styles.
Also check to make sure the text are not inserted graphics.

AskWoody LoungerDecember 14, 2004 at 6:13 pm #912781Thanks guys…I figured it out. The reason why the dates remained after I went to the “format” “barsyles” to remove them is….before I did that, I individually changed some bars’ formats (color/style, etc) Because I did it individually, I had to get rid of the dates individually by double clicking each icon (not date) and then removing the txt from each individual task. It was very tedious!
