At this stage of the game, what the h*ll use is version 10 S anyways if it is crippled to store apps!

Speaking of Win10 S, Martin Brinkman over at Ghacks.net has an interesting article (Windows 10 S to Pro upgrades free for accessibility technology users) concerning a free upgrade to Pro version, as long as you use accessibility technologies.  Anyone can claim to use these and save the upgrade cost.

Why is this version default install on a premium notebook like Surface laptop? Or anything besides a educational or specifically requested system? If this is the future of Windows a walled garden of selected apps that Microsoft allows I am so moving on to Linux or Mac OS.  Notice how Microsoft gradually implements these changes over time so as to acclimate the end user to accept them.

I am not sure 10S was requested by anyone. This seems to be a ‘me too’ effort. ChromeOS is basically a Linux distro customized for ‘the cloud’. It is not the only Linux distro customized for ‘the cloud’. 10S seems to a crippled version that very few will want. Plus the supposed target market is not tech saavy enough to install any OS so the upgrade offer is pointless.
