Normal.dot not being saved on Word Exit (Word 2002 /XP SP3)

Hello

We have the setting turned off Tools, Options, Save “Prompt to Save Normal template”.

For a couple of users they are creating autotext entries and saving to their normal.dot. Usually if you quit Word if your quick you will see a messae on the bottom task bar reading something to the effect of “..saving to Normal.dot…”. For these users wehn they quit Word this message does not appear. and Normal.dot does not saved.

I then turned on the setting “Prompt to Save Normal template”, created an autotext entry in normal.dot and quit Word. Word didnot display the message “Save to Normal.dot” and the normal.dot didnot save.

I deleted the normal.dot and repeated the test to check but no success.

any ideas?
