I am new to Microsoft Project 2003, and would appreciate knowing how one inputs non scheduled recurring events into a time line. I found the way to input recurring events so that i can put in meetings that happen on the second Thursday of every month. But… i have certain events that happen regularly but are not regularly spaced. For instance a Board meeting on March 26, the next one on May 20 and the next one on September 17.
I am sure Project 2003 can handle this, but have not found it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I think the only thing you can do for tasks that are the same and occur on non scheduled dates is to copy and paste the task multiple times and set the task to occur on a specific date by using a constraint. Constraints are set in Advanced tab of the Task Information dialog box. You would probably not include these tasks in the dependancy relationships because their fixed dates would take away form the ability of the project to dynamically readjust as task durations change.

Can you explain this a little further? I am an extreme novice and I have to do something similar to what this sound like. The task is recurring, but with no set pattern, and for a week at a time. One of the things I’m confused about is how you get the task bars to all show up on the same line. If you can help, I’d appreciate it.
