I checked updates. I was up to date.
But there was an update for installing 24H2 and no check box to uncheck.
So if I had other updates to do I could not have done them without taking 24H2.
What can I do about that?
Thanks.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

If/when other updates are available, they would show up and the 24H2 would not.
If you accidentally started the download and install, the best thing to do is let it install and then once it installs, go in and uninstall it.
But bottom line, if there was something else pending it would have showed up.
If you want to control feature releases, I still strongly recommend Incontrol.

As Susan suggested, you can use GRC’s InControl (it’s a standalone program with no installer) to hide/prevent Windows 11 24H2 from showing up getting installed.
Download and run the program, enter 11 as the version & 23H2 as the release in the two lower left boxes, then click the Take Control button.
When you’re ready to upgrade to 24H2, run it again and click the Release Control button.
Note: it works for both Windows Home and Pro!
How will I “unhide” it when it is deemed useable ?
Run WUmgr and unhide (tick) the updates listed under hidden updates
