I just noticed that deleting a record does not invoke the standard “you are about to delete 1 record” confirmation dialog when editing a table — no form or query involved. Issued “docmd.setwarnings true” from the immediate window. No change. Created a new database with one table and one field. Same behaviour.

Used a second computer and created the same test database. The standard “confirmation” dialog box appeared.

I can’t remember changing a setting anywhere in the Access environment that would cause this to happen on the first computer. What am I overlooking?

    Thanks.

The only setting I know of in A97 that will change this is DoCmd.SetWarnings or a macro running the SetWarnings action. Are you sure that neither of those occur in your test database?

Positive. The only object in this database, except for the msys* tables, is Table1. It has a single field. Powered-up the computer this morning, and the same thing occurred, so it’s not some transient thing. Strange….
