    I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on four machines, but only one of them displays the problem I am about to describe. Microsoft updates are installed, and they show in the update history, and Secunia PSI reports no missing security updates. However, in Control Panel, Programs and Features, click on “View Installed Updates”, I am told that “no updates are installed on this computer”. This is the location where one would be able to uninstall an update if necessary, but, again, no updates are listed there. Others have reported this problem on the web going back to Vista and XP, but I found no solution. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is causing this?

      According to the first post in the “All Replies” section at Windows Vista Ultimate update:

      “If you have experienced issues with Windows Update, in the past and used any of the commands to reset the WU component, these commands can remove the WU history from that list in Control Panel.”

      There is a method in that post to get a report of installed fixes but unfortunately not to repair it.

      Hi Joe K, have you tried to view updates from ‘Windows Update’ via start menu.

      Yes, there should be the same options to uninstall as below.

      In Windows 7 the choice for doing an uninstall of a specific update is located on the Installed Updates page from;
      Start>>Windows Update (or via start>>run, type “wuapp”) >> “Installed Updates”, located at the lower left of window.
      If you click on any of those installed updates, it will ask “Do you realy want to uninstall this update”.

      Yes, if I go to Windows Updates in the Start Menu and select Update History, I get a list of updates that have been installed. It is when I go to Programs and Features in the Control Panel and select Updates Installed that I am told “no updates are installed on this computer”. I have since run Belarc Advisor and it tells me I am missing eleven security updates even though Secunia reports no missing updates and Microsoft Update says there are no new updates. I will give just three of the updates Belarc says are missing: KB978886, KB980436, and KB981852. The only major difference between the computer in question and my others is that this one has Office 2007.
