I bought a sewing kit for my better half, because it contained one of these gizzmos she had seen, but never had. Now we’re trying to figure out what it’s for and how it’s used. The notches in the metal rule are at 1 inch intervals. The little red plastic bit can slide the length of the groove. It’s probably for dress making, but ???

I have never quite figured out, whow or what is the Lounge Pedant?

I’ll tell you what – take that advice, fold it till it’s all corners, ans then stick it somewhere uncomfortable…

Well then I guess, if your spelling is so bad, it very well could be “appealing”!
