No driver for Canon printer in Windows 11

I finally bought a new HP laptop with Win11 22H2, and I’m starting to get things working… The first (minor) issue is that my old secondary printer, a Canon Pixma MG 5350, is not recognized. When searching on Canon’s driver page, it simply says “not supported on Win11”. Any suggestions for a workaround?

I would try downloading and installing the driver they offer for a previous version of Windows.

That’s what I’ve been doing for my decade+ old MG3122. And each time, with a later return to the driver page I’d find that it was now listed as compatible with the current version of Windows – often with no change to the driver version. That old thing is currently still working fine with Windows 10, including Canon’s XP-looking scan software for it.

I haven’t tried 11, and might never – my Linux Mint PC automatically found and added the printer over WiFi with no action on my part, and scanning works, too.

I did find that installing the Windows 10 driver on 11 supposedly worked for someone with a MG5320:

Thanks for your answer! I came to the same conclusion, installed the Win10 driver, and was up and running after some dribbling. Haven’t tried scanning yet, but printing works fine.
