I’ve used this and it’s quite helpful to package up a greatly diverse set of utilities

Like the PsTools set of utilities, I find Nir Sofer’s utilities extremely useful. But AntiVirus companies don’t like them, and say that some of them (but different utilities for different AV firms!) “contain viruses” and quarantine or delete them. They don’t of course, contain viruses; they just get closer to the system than the AV companies like. He updates one or more utilities every few days, so even though you may get the full package, it will be sligtly out of date in a few days’ time!

      BATcher

Plethora means a lot to me.

Absolutely BATcher, unfortunately its nature of the beast I think to some extent considering what some of these utilities are capable of. NirSoft actually have a blog post on this particular topic,

        http://blog.nirsoft.net/2009/05/17/antivirus-companies-cause-a-big-headache-to-small-developers/

I find these sort of suites extremely useful because keeping a large variety of small utilities from the same developer is tedious as they are always bug fixing and improving each of the respective functions.

Something which I’ve done but forgot to include here as I’ve had it like this for a while now.

Integrating SysInternals Suite into NirSoft Launcher utility. It’s great!

      sysinternals2.nlp

In order to use this file, follow the instructions below:

      – Download SysInternals Suite from Sysinternals Suite Web page, and extract all files into a new subfolder under the main folder of NirLauncher.
      – Right click on the sysinternals2.nlp link, choose ‘Save Link As‘ or ‘Save Target As‘, and put it in the same folder that you extracted the SysInternals files.
      – Drag sysinternals2.nlp into the window of NirLauncher or use the ‘Add Software Package‘ in the Launcher menu.
      – If you do it right, the SysInternals should be loaded into NirLauncher.

You can switch between the NirSoft package and SysInternals package by using F3/F4 keys.

      This is how it looks

Here’s another free launcher I’ve been using for a while – KLS SOFT – WSCC – Windows System Control Center.

      Thanks Joe,

I was going to post that one when I had a little more time but no matter. It’s now up for people to inspect.

I quite like it for the following reasons:

      – Configured to check for updates (live from developers) to both Suites
      – Short descriptions for each utility
      – Search-able

It even has some basic shortcuts to Windows System Snap-in’s like Computer Management etc.

      Cheers,
      Josh.

Josh, I was able to follow you instructions, with a couple of glitches which I finally figured out. I actually loaded Nirsoft/Sisinternals Suite combined launcher on a thumb drive for use with multiple PC’s. Great job!
