It’s up, and there are a few improvements. Really. You can see Microsoft’s official announcement here. Or you can dive directly into the Windows Insid

Wonder why you have no comments here!!!
I didn’t find anything worthy of note.

      Me neither.

Not related to the beta, Windows 10 nevertheless.
Being in the process of moving towards Windows 10/Windows 2016 Server now, I found that WU still has not changed since the very early stage. When configured via Group Policy, the settings behave correctly, with one caveat. When clicking on the button Check for updates, it actually checks, downloads and installs, instead of respecting the Group Policy setting.
This is very much like the Firefox built in behaviour.
The worst habits of the best products are learnt quickly by those in Microsoft responsible with this behaviour as it seems.

I might start posting more about Windows 10 (not beta), but unfortunately most will not apply to the Home Edition, because the best and most useful settings are configured via Group Policy. Those with Pro can still take most of the benefit from configuring Group Policy less those very few settings which are no longer available. After removing certain Group Policies, that edition should be rebranded as Windows 10 Semi(or Half)-Pro.

      Interesting. Which group policy setting?

The known one under Computer ConfigurationWindows ComponentsWindows UpdateConfigure Automatic Updates
The policy needs to be set to Disabled for the equivalent functionality of Never check…
I tried to manipulate the Scheduled Tasks and the Windows Update service for a more user friendly behaviour and found that there is a self-repair component and tasks resetting other tasks, so I didn’t get too much into the details.
Other useful policy for Windows Update is the one under Computer ConfigurationWindows ComponentsDelivery OptimizationDownload Mode
Depending on edition, I believe that the configuration available are different. If available, configure Bypass (this is new and emulates old behaviour using BITS Service and not the Cloud) or HTTP Only or Simple.

Using LTSB 2016 for 1 day and a half and very pleased with the results, after big headaches with the CU refusing to install for many hours.
I configured the telemetry blocking as recommended, but I am not extremely concerned with it except for having the potential of slowing down the computer.
      I configured (Group Policy):
      – Telemetry – Security (Basic is the closest available in Pro)
      – Disabled Feedback
      – Reg key for MSRT
      – Policies to disable MAPS and Cloud feedback for Defender

In addition I configured Group Policies to make Windows Update more friendly
