    Crew…

As part of the automatic updates we have on our office workstations (XP Pro), Internet Explorer was upgraded to version 7. Now…it seems to be plugged into System Sounds, as when I surf or tab, I get this little “bloop” sound. I can get rid of it by turning off system sounds in the OS…but I don’t want to turn off system sounds (I like to hear the boot-up jingle every morning…I’m weird, OK?) Is there any way to turn off the sounds just in Internet Explorer?

    Thanks,

Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech & Audio Devices>Sounds & Audio Devices>Sounds tab. Find the event you’re looking for and change or remove the sound.

To amplify DocWatson‘s tip: it seems the Sounds you’re looking for will be – scrolling most of the way down the ListBox – under Windows Explorer as Complete Navigation and Start Navigation. HTH

        Doc & Unk…

As usual…you guys always come through. Of those two, it was Start Navigation that had a sound listed (which is now set to “None”.)

        Thanks very much,
