I see the new 360 has extra features like dark web protection, backup, and vpn capability, but is there any indication that it is better for malware protection?

I see no claims to that effect in the Norton documentation.

    Thanks

I use Norton Deluxe and might go with 360 next time. Deluxe is great, works quietly in the background IMO and scans for malware as good if not better than other AVs I’ve read about. I’m sure you can find stats for the current Norton 360 by searching for AVs in general. I like the added feature in 360 for VPN, Dark Web monitoring is a good thing unless you already have it through a separate subscription with LifeLock. Bottom line it’s best to do your own research before making a decision on which AV to use. There are quite a few topics here at the forum that talk about AV protection through various sources.

      Thanks.

I already went ahead and installed it since it’s cheaper than renewing.  Just wondering if it is any better so I know if I want to recommend it for others when their renewal time comes up.

I didn’t really expect to use the Dark Web Monitoring but it is on by default and has found 4 instances of my email address – leaks by bitly, evite, linked in, and Adobe. Guess I am glad I use different passwords on each. But I changed them anyway.

I guess the Dark Web Monitoring alone makes it worth the change, although I am hesitant to go inputting my other personal information, so that it can look for it. Any opinions?

I only put in the minimal personal info with similar protection. I don’t give my bank account or credit cards. Email addys I do because as you said they’ve already picked up on some sly stuff. It’s probably nothing to be too concerned about. Just be vigilant and throw the spam into the Junk and never click on anything in a suspicious email!

Sounds like you’ve got it planned out well. I actually have the original Norton Deluxe that has since been replaced by Norton 360 Deluxe. Want to clarify that. So when I said I might go with 360 next subscription, I’ll go with 360 Deluxe. Bitdefender gets good ratings on their AV. Good luck!
