    Good Day,
A friend was kind enough to give me a laptop that my son could use at university that his daughter used last year. I got everything configured to the network at the school but at the point where I was to enter his username and password it came with her username asking for a password with no option to change the username. This is at the point where you would normally have the option to select “save password” so the network would connect automatically without always asking for the password.
How do I either delete that username or get the option to change the name.
I tried going to Control Panel-System-User Profiles (I think that’s was what the option was named) but it always came up “Not Responding”.
I would sure appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    Regards,
    Stats

Hi Stats, the easiest & safest method is to access ‘safe mode’ ( any one will do ) by tapping F8 key during start up, then sign in to Administrator account. Now go to Control Panel>user accounts. Follow on screen instructions to re name.

How did you set up the network for school?
      Did you map a drive?

      cheers, Paul

Is the original account an Administrator account or a Limited account. If it’s a limited account, then it will not allow the changes you wish to make. This link sows 2 methods to unhide the Administrator account.I hope this helps with your problem.
