We know that Jezza took up running a few years ago and has now conquered many events that most of us would rather watch from our lounge rooms.

Here is a list of other possibilitiesfor him, and more armchair work for us!

Wow, of all of those I would love to do the Polar Marathon, the sponsorship alone is an enormous amount but it really is for the “rich boys”

However I am doing a mountain run in 2 weeks, here is my route….a [choccy bar] for anyone who can work out where it is

The mountain is SPOILER:Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh), the largish lake is SPOILER:Llyn Llydaw

I trust that as you appeared to have been online this afternoon and it’s not yet been two weeks, that you are not involved in this…?

Not to worry, I am safe, I have only ventured out of the Log Cabin once today to go to Ye Old Magic Forest Coffee Shop and back. I will venturing out next Saturday morning for a flight up to Glasgow, then a drive to Ben Nevis where I will be on “Base Camp” duties whilst friends and family members ascend and descend the Mountain.

I will then drive them to Scafell Pike, again Base Camp duties where they will ascend and descend the mountain. I will then drive them to Snowdon where I will debus, throw my kit in the back and run/scramble to the top of Snowdon then descend to make them a hardy bacon and egg supper ready for large amounts of beer ( read Guinness) drinking later.

The race you mention is pretty big in the running calendar but I am quite happy not to ascend if the going gets rough next week, it just isn’t worth it but I have to say the weather does come in quick and hard on all of these peaks…..that’s the fun isn’t it ?

          Leif

A week on and I can safely say that the weather couldn’t have been any different, here is a picture taken at about 2,500 feet looking west from Mount Snowdon

and then a hill profile recorded by my Garmin GPS thingy
