AskWoody_MVPNovember 8, 2016 at 8:57 pm #23524I can tell you that if you use recommendations in Steps 3 and 4 from here, which a lot of people use, you have a broken browser.

GuestNovember 9, 2016 at 5:53 am #23529If you don’t want to go through https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (unticking all that google bloatware crap etc.)
(Firefox/Opera/Safari)
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/23.0.0.207/install_flash_player.exe(Internet Explorer)
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/23.0.0.207/install_flash_player_ax.exe[Uninstaller]
https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exeI prefer manual install with no update check since it’ll constantly have adobe update arm .exe thing running in the background.

AskWoody_MVPNovember 9, 2016 at 2:06 pm #23531@Ed I think it was posted in the wrong thread, either by me or Woody, by mistake.
It was meant as a reply to someone who could not get updates from the Catalog with Firefox, while everyone else replying could.
I said that the person has a broken browser due to too much security probably and giving some common configuration examples which can break Firefox.
Sorry for the confusion! -

GuestNovember 10, 2016 at 2:05 am #23532I use Flash with IE 11 and Windows 7.
I have never had an issue with getting my Flash updates from their https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer page,
but tonight I can’t get anything to download or install (at least properly… an empty file does download but doesn’t contain anything),
and I see on the Adobe Security Bulletin that Woody gave a link to (https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb16-37.html)
that this update is apparently only for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10?It says:
“Adobe Flash Player for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11
23.0.0.207
Windows 10 and 8.1”I don’t see a mention of the Windows 7 platform using IE 11 anywhere in the bulletin.
Does anyone know — does this 23.0.0.207 Flash update definitely not apply to IE 11 on Windows 7, at least not at the present time?
Thanks.

GuestNovember 10, 2016 at 8:59 am #23533Probably a coincidence poohsticks but earlier this morning I couldn’t get any files to download either. From several different sites too I might add.
Alas the old “fix-all” worked once again though… after a restart of the computer every single file then downloaded fine.
Good luck… hope it works for you too!

GuestNovember 10, 2016 at 1:48 pm #23534Ed, thank you for sharing your experience and positivity.
The next time I shut down and power on again, I’ll go back to the Adobe page to see if that does the trick.
—
Is your operating system Windows 7? If so, does Adobe say somewhere that this update is appropriate for Windows 7?I’m wondering why the Adobe bulletin did not mention Windows 7 as a relevant platform for this update.

GuestNovember 16, 2016 at 2:16 am #23537Hi all,
My Secunia PSI seems to be automatically updating the Adobe Flash Player 23 NPAPI. It put V 23.0.0.207 on my machines on 11/8/2016.
It also updated Microsoft Office Professional 2013-en-us V 15.0.4875.1001 on 11/15/2016.
I didn’t look for these updates, Secunia handled them .
