    Hi to all..

the issue I have is as the title suggests. I have several PC’s in the house to which I have installed the printer drivers without any issues. However the majority of the time when I need to print something on one of the computers, it nearly always changes the IP address, sometimes it 192.168.0.3 or 4 or 5. So I then have to go back into the printer properties and change it accordingly.

My question is; Is there a way I can bind the printer to just one ip address rather than my router constantly changing it?

thanks in advance for any help given..

your configuring your printer statically/manually? when you install your printer driver have it find the printer in network automatically avoid configuring the IP manually, if the network is fine it will find it. goodluck.

      Hi Steve,

You can assign a static IP address to your printer outside the range you specified on your router for DHCP to auto assign IP addresses. I did this when I installed my network printer after confronting the same issue some time back.

What Deadeye81 said! I set printer IP addresses starting above 50 or 100, safely away from the computers. Same with servers, so maybe printers starting at 50 and servers at 100?

      cheers, Paul
