I’m trying to map the following network shares to the respective drives:

    /sd/media M:
    /sd/family R:
    /sd/partner S:

The M and R drives map without any problem, but when I attempt to map the S drive, I get the following useless message.

The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred:
    An extended error has occurred.

Does anyone have a clue why 1 of the 3 drives will not map?

    Thanks.

Make sure that the share have granted enough licenses for clients accessing (by mapping three times you need three licenses).

Have you checked the system log file? What operating system is running on the ‘sd’ machine? If it is XP you can only have 10 concurrent connections on a machine.

I assume that when you typed /sd/partner you really do mean sdpartner but if not then please explain a bit more clearly.

What do you see if you go to a command window and type
      Net view SD
Does it show all three shares?

Problem solved. I mistakenly assigned the user to multiple groups, some of which had rights to the share and some did not. After re-assigning the user to the correct group the drives mapped correctly.
