Ref: My hardware question started with post 747,231 which has turned into network problems instead.
StuartA has given this added information: Check what channels each laptop, and the Network Access Point, have been configured to use. These devices will roam to adjacent channels, but they are prone to interference from other people’s equipment using the same channel.
Now I am going to sound very lost here – I finally found where the channel is listed in the Belkin 802.11g Wireless Card Configuration Utility and it is set on 6. I won’t try changing it now but I assume she can highlight the number here and change it to whatever the Access Point is set to? The Access Point is also a Belkin so there must be a way to get into its configuration…. oh, yes I bet that’s the page that is accessed through the browser! I hope she remembers the password to it…..
This gives us another place to have a look see. I’ll post back after she gets the chance to try connecting again. I’ll be glad when this is solved!
