Has Netscape 7 been out a while, or are we still in an unreliable “.0” version?

I am having difficulties with Netscape 4.7 with an old computer (200 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM). Will Netscape 7 need substantially more resources?

    Thanks.

If you have limited resources, I would try Mozilla instead. Netscape is based on the Mozilla source code, it just adds a great deal of bloatware & resource hogging software to the mix. You can pick up Mozilla at: http://www.mozilla.org/%5B/url%5D The current version is 1.2.1, but 1.3 should be released soon.

Since I am a dedicated Mozilla user, I’d agree with Mozzie’s suggestion to download Mozilla instead of Netscape 7. I’m pretty darn sure you’ll like it better than Netscape 4.x. However, I do currently install Netscape 7.01 on a number of machines where I work and haven’t had any problems, even in spite of the excess BLOAT of the product. But all the machines I’m dealing with are at least Pentium II class running processors of 300 meg or higher, so I don’t know if things would slow to any noticeable degree on your 200 meg machine. One would think not.
