Clicking on (w7 Pro.) start and typing in “create and format hard disk partitions” will open Disk Management that I want.
What I want is to make a batch file to run this command.
I am from the old DOS days, but for the life of me cannot remember the CMD Start, Run commands I need to use. If i could find the Windows command for “Disk Management” I could create a shortcut it.
I would really appreciate it if someone would write this .bat file for me! Thank you if you will!

The command to start Disk Management from a Command Prompt window is simply diskmgmt , but that only gets you the GUI window. You may have to add .msc to get it to run as a shortcut.

      BATcher

Plethora means a lot to me.

Thank you! The diskmgmt was the command I needed.
I saw before in my searches the diskmgmt.msc under systems32, but the .msc extension through me…..I had a senior moment for a couple of days.
I appreciate your reply, the open GUI Window was what I was looking for. I now have a .bat file going there.

Having a senior moment is no excuse. This is a classic case of abuse of a homophone threw and threw. And, it’s an outrage up with which we shall no longer put ….. 🙂

I discovered that I needed the .msc in Win7 64 bit on my laptop.
