Does Windows 2000 contain an equivalent of Novell’s NCOPY?

This command copied files between server locations without the network traffic to/from the workstation.

    Thanks.

If you have NCOPY, it’s still a supported utility in Win2000. Have you tried it? Or is this a situation with No ‘vell in sight, and you need the equivalent on a Redmond only network? pun

        Novell is long gone.
It has to be a Microsoft solution.

It’s not dead….but it’s far from a competitor, at least at a glance.

      Hi Cowboy,

Just in case you think you’ve been ignored, ‘fraid you have to be “into” Novell to follow the posts here. NCOPY was specific to that network operating system (NOS). With a COPY or XCOPY, to copy a file from one area of the server to another, the file was copied into the PC’s memory then back to the server. NCOPY avoided that by keeping the process on the server itself.
