      Thanx for pointing that out BAN…I re-numbered #1’s sub-questions!

      You got (e) correct. thumbup
Well done! Was that a wild guess?

      • #947040

C’mon Rudi- I know I’m not the best puzzle-solver in the world, but this is a wee bit difficult. Any clues?

        • #947048

This is a sensitive issue! But here goes:

          CLUES:
          1. I’ll use this statement as a clue! One clue can give the entire puzzle away
          2. Also, you have BAN’s answer to (e) as another clue!
          3. Think of your childhood!

    • #946812

      1. Fill the blanks!

      a) C**a** of the ***ra** (Age old stress reliever)
       *l**h* *14 (Going somewhere?)
      c) *e**n *r**t** b***s (Looking forward)
      d) P***o*e** of *** *u* (Hot and bonded)
      e) S****in* *t** (Hey, Lee!)
      f) C*l***u* **f**r (Think numbers)
      g) B*** *o**s (Beautiful symbol)
      h) **a*k **l*** (Alcatraz)
      i) *ec*** *f *** *n*c*** (Unknown equine)
      j) *a*d o* **ac* **l* (Middle east)
      k) E***o**** of *** m*** (Giant leap)
      l) R** *e* ***r** (I won't swim there)
      m) C*** w*t* *** *o**e* c*** (Watch your toes!)

      2. What is the relationship to these completed entries?

      3. Name 4 other completed entries that fit into the puzzle!

      • #947052

        g) Bank books ?

        • #947060

          nope

I’ve extended the puzzle to prevent those famous Rudi-isms! (Hope I haven’t over done it now!)

          cheers

      • #947066

Presumably by Q2 you mean what do the answers have in common? If so, I would guess they are all to do with things in the sky….…?

        • #947069

          Sorry, No!
You should see the relationship when all (or at least most) of Question 1 is answered! You can’t answer Q2 or Q3 if you do not fully know Q1.

      • #947067

        k. exploring of the moon

        • #947071

Yes! Thats close enough! Well done!
The correct answer is : Explorers of the moon

          • #947072

            bananas bananas bananas

            T**t*n *n T***t

            • #947079

wink seems you have Q#2 correct! thumbup

            • #947086

No, that was my solution, it was put in code to let you know I know

            • #947088

Yes I know. Then I saw your answer, I knew you understood the context of all the entries in question1. That is why I say you have Q2 correct. This is the relationship between all the entries in Q1.
              [thunmup]

            • #947090

              Oh, sorry

So now I know that you know that I know that you know that I know, no?

        (I still don’t quite understand Q2.)

        • #947089

          Don’t worry about Q2. Work on Q1!

PS: You can’t answer a puzzle with a puzzle!!! confused

          • #947093

Well, if you can’t answer your own puzzle…! The Broken Ear

        Andrew

        • #947318

          >>> ahh the memories, by far and away the best books from my childhood.

Agreed…I have most of my collection still too! I lived on these! And now my son is too. All he reads now-days in Tintin!!
          cheers

          • #947319

Ok, no wonder I was stumped….. I love to read, but have never read a Tintin book in my life! shrug

            • #947324

I don’t think I have either, but once you get one answer, searching Amazon makes light work of it all… grin

            • #947326

Ooh, such underhand tactics sir! grin

Actually, I’m only jealous cos I don’t have web access here at work bummer

            • #947330

Then who is pretending to be you online at the moment?

            • #947331

WOW, have you NEVER heard of Tintin and the Herge range of Tintin adventure books! Lyra…I’m in awe!

I can tell you one thing, if you read 1 book…you will be hooked!
              cheers

            • #947333

I know you addressed that to Lyra, but not reading and never hearing about are two totally separate things! I am very familiar with the characters:

but it doesn’t mean I have read any of the books or don’t know who the author is!

            • #947334

Yeah I’ve heard of them Rudi, just never read any….

And Leif, my Masters at work believe wopr.com to be a useful resource, therefore it’s on the ‘allowed sites’ list. If only they knew….. evilgrin

            • #947335

              Is Google blocked too?

            • #947344

              Yeah bummer

The only things we can get to are microsoft.com, here, compuware & client sites. Hey-ho. Wouldn’t be so bad, but I can only get to the http://www.microsoft.com domain, no support, no technet, no msdn… sigh

            • #947349

I have also never read Tintin.

If I had never seen the TV series (I think on Nickoledeon a number of years ago) watching with my (then much younger) son, I would never have even heard of it. (at least until now)

              Steve

            • #947361

Shows you…the lounge is useful for literature also!! (Hail WOPR!)

            • #947408

I’ve never read or heard of any Tintin books, either. However, if they’re that good, I see my local library has them, so as soon as we get through the Lemony Snickett books we’re reading maybe we’ll move on to those next…

              Thanks. read

            • #947410

              You’ll soon be hooked! cheers
