I goofed somewhere as usual :o. Since I wasn’t sure if I had the brains to try getting WindowsMail installed on my Windows7 I went ahead & installed Incredimail because I wanted a separate email program for a separate email address. Well, the darn thing automatically imported my Eudora without even giving me the option!! Then I (somehow?) changed it to my other address which was Thunderbird ( didn’t like it). I then Uninstalled T-Bird. Now this morning when I tried to send from Eudora I got an error msg. & remembered that I also got one at T-Bird yesterday before I uninstalled it.
What is my best choice to get Eudora back to working? I took a look at System Restore which said it would delete Incredimail & restore T-Bird. Or should I just Uninstall Incredimail myself. I did check my settings in Eudora & ‘think’ it’s still set like I had it originally when it worked.

Hi grits, Windows Live Mail is so simple to use, even an adult can do it.

Thanks RR, I might have to end up doing that but really would like to resolve this issue 1st. I guess my real dilemma is that I don’t know if it was Thunderbird or Incredimail that screwed up my being able to send from Eudora so don’t know if it’s best to just uninstall IM in hopes of Eudora getting back to normal or what to do. I’m almost at the point of throwing this d***ed machine out the window!, even tho’ the blame really lies in the idiot that’s now typing this .
oops, forgot to ask, is WLM like a web based email or a client type like Outlook Express which of all I’ve tried is my favorite?

    • #1328242

WLM is used to access various account types for reading & sending mail only. In my case, I sign-in with a Hotmail account where all my contacts are saved, this lets me input addresses without having to do it manually, plus a ‘Safe’ & ‘Blocked’ senders list. When all Hotmail folders have been added, I add my Gmail account & delete the Hotmail account. Gmail is set to archive my mail when accessed using POP, so it never gets deleted unless I do it.

I’m more confused than ever now. All I wanted to know was if WLM is web style like yahoo, gmail, etc. or the kind that is installed on a PC like Outlook Express, Eudora, Incredimail? I don’t want web type & whatever you wrote there sounds like you have 3 different ones just to access 1? Sorry for being so stupid but I am, as can be seen by some of the dumb questions I ask when I come here for help.
I did get my problem resolved however so my original post is moot.
      Thanx,
      grits

Both. WLM is Microsofts new name for the old Hot Mail web base email that you can access via a web browser like yahoo, gmail, etc. Windows Live Mail 2011 is a PC based Email client like Outlook, Eudora, etc that can be used to access Pop and IMAP email as well as Web based Windows live Mail. You can set it up to service multiple Email accounts.

Thanks Jerry, that’s what I was afraid of. I just want a simple email program ‘on my PC’ like Outlook Express was. I don’t do HotMail, gmail, yahoo, etc., have no use for multiple accts. Guess I’ll have to find a friend who knows more about computers than I do, & that won’t be hard to do, to help me do the ‘set up Windows Mail on Windows7’ process.
