• MSPaint crashes (XP Service Pack 2)

Recently I have found that MSPaint will crash when I try to run it…sometimes. If it crashes it will crash every time until I reboot. Then it may crash or it may work fine I just want to see if anyone else has run into this. I will probably get my laptop reimaged next week and hope that will take care of it, but if someone can point me in the right direction that would be cooler!

    Thanks

      From here……

      1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER.

      2. Locate and click the following registry key:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent VersionAppletsPaint

      3. Right-click the registry key, and then click Delete.

This registry key is rebuilt the next time that you start Paint.

Haven’t seen it. But if you are allowed to install software you ought to check out the free Paint.NET. This was started by a Microsoft employee as a student project and he and others have kept it up. It is a terrific program that is very much better than MSPaint.

NOTE: It is NOT a Microsoft product. It has its own support forums – Paint.NET • Index page.
